Currently hanging out with Picasso and Van (As in Van gogh) Hollaa

What would you say if I asked you to go with me to an art museum?

Well, if anyone asked me this question before I'd tell you something along the lines of me grieving a dead cat that never existed! Then in an undefined moment in time it all changed and the experience of going to art galleries or museums became synonymous with brain and soul food! I mean not only has my mind been changed but my old ideas were banished to nonexistence!

It was within the walls of an art museum, through the life of the deceased that I learned my greatest lessons! I learned from Picasso that you can dance to society's music for so long before your soul deafens to it and the only song you can hear is that of your soul! Although Picasso could kick the life out of any classical painter of his time he couldn't keep painting what was thought to be pretty and cubism burst out of him like an overdue baby and his true colors rushed to the canvas to force the world to see art in a different way!

I also learned that conventional education can only get you so far and hold you back as much! At some point after you've stuffed your brain with all the information they thought you need you need to liberate your mind and chuck the established limits somewhere your mind can't reach and start the glorious journey through creation, invention, and innovation! It is known that Picasso dropped out of college after a while because he thought that they could teach him no more! and what courage have his results given me to rebel against my own education and the stale methodology with which my brain has been abused for years!

As to Vangogh he didn't go to art school at all! He taught himself all the way to brilliance and genius! All the way to the admiration of countless generations to come and if you really looked at his paintings you could see that they didn't follow the rules of perspective! when you initially condemn his lack of technique is the exact moment you ask your self: when did art become about rules of perspective?

I don't know about you but its been years since I've attempted to draw or paint something simply because I didn't think of my self as adequate and that is when I realized that I took one of the noblest forms of self expression and made it about perfecting yet another aspect of my life!

Another Vangogh fact, he started painting when he was 28! How many of us have the courage to start over at that age? How many of us believe in our inner guide so blindly to drop a meaningless aspect of our lives and launch into the unknown with no experience? How many of us can truly feel the joy of general experimenting without succumbing to the pressures of society of where you should be in life and you should have accomplished by now?

I will always remember the lessons I learned sailing in the stream of beautiful creation amidst canvas that were doors to a richer more gratifying life!

I have one final question to ask you: next time I hang out with the likes of Picasso or Vangogh...you know like in a museum, will you come with me?

Drink up
