Disclaimer: The fact that I am 10 days away from my Internal medicine exam may have something to do with the impaired sense of judgement you are about to witness
Since its that time of the year where you are demanded to pour out all the knowledge you acquired throughout the semester in a matter of hours, I was forced to study almost everything together. Due to this and the fact that my whole family is spending the holiday together except for me, I had to compensate for my emotional instability by forming relationships with what I'm studying…
So without further a due here are the top reasons why cardiology is my favorite topic to study:
1) Cardiology teaches to pay attention to things regardless of their size
Even though the heart is relatively a small organ, cardiology teaches you that it can beat the sanity out of you when you try to understand how electricity moves around in that fist sized organ.
2)Cardiology has the cutest named syndromes
Holiday heart syndrome (Named like that because its linked to increased alcohol intake and we have an idea about what happens during the holidays and alcohol)
Coronary-Cafe syndrome (No Idea why it was named like that)
3)They know how to name their studies
I here now am challenging all you people to find a better named study than Hot-Cafe which at first sounds like warmth and coziness till you learn it actually expands to HOw to Treat Chronic Atrial Fibrillation.
4)Heart diseases when translated to french suddenly sound like something you want to have
Atrial Fibrillation translates to "La fibrillation Auriculaire", which sounds to me like a vacation in the south of France (Never mind that its going to be in a hospital in the south of france" but its romantic never-the-less.
Anyways Happy studying to all my fellow PharmD warriors out-there..
And to everyone else still confused about my randomness, I wish you a healthy heart and a wonderful weekend
Drink up
Deena
